MONTESSORI
The use of Montessori activities aims to support the holistic development of children, fostering their intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth. Children use special tools like the Pink Tower, Cylindrical Knobs, Broad Stair and activities like polishing shoes, lacing, zipping, pouring activity, gardening, cutting and use of various everyday equipment to learn through play and practice. These materials help improve their fine motor skills, focus, and problem-solving abilities while teaching patience and coordination. The beauty of the Montessori method is that it lets children learn at their own pace, boosting their confidence and curiosity. At Tender Feet, this approach makes children learn to look after themselves and be a useful contributor to the household.
EARTH SENSE DAY
Taking care of our Earth is no longer an option – it is a necessity. We have exploited nature by cutting innumerable trees and extracting minerals, crystals and other resources. The animals have no choice but to eat the plastic bags filled with kitchen waste that we throw around. Water levels are depleting because we waste so much and water bodies are vanishing, replaced by concrete houses. The fresh smell of the air has been polluted by the toxic fumes that factories and vehicles emit. We can still save our environment. And what better way than to start with the very young - the children! It is with great pride that we at Tender Feet are a part of the ‘Green Revolution’ headed by our Director, Ms. Anu Khurana. We observe every Monday as Earth Sense Day where children carry newspapers, plastic bottles, and E-waste that is not properly recycled from their homes and segregate the waste into three different cartons placed in the school. THE EFFORTS PUT BY THE PARENTS AND THE STAFF AT TENDER FEET ARE DONE TO ENSURE THAT NONE OF THE DRY WASTE ENDS UP IN THE LANDFILL!
